about
1) This is the only song recorded on two different pianos, the Willis Upright in Stephen's living room (featured naked on the album cover), and the Kaui Grand at Clear Lake Baptist Church in Clear Lake, CA.
2) Stephen and I spent a week living in the church, recording on their beautiful sounding grand piano, watching the sunset on Clear Lake nightly, sharing drinks with the locals at the Buckhorn Club.
3) Each song on the album has it's own artwork; the photography used for this cover art is by Serina Tsuda, taken in Santa Cruz on the coast, chopped up by me to create what you see below.
4) The crazy, brassy, bassy synthesizer in this song is called PSYN II, and it came pre-installed with the software we use to record, Sonar 8.5. We dig it, obviously.
lyrics
lyrics by Stephen Cameron
To get it back we work a little harder
Try and try again, like the day is young
We've got the best thing going
Spent half a decade knowing it would be you and me
Set a fire disaster glowing
(It would be you and me)
We've got the best thing going
It's you. It's me
To get it back we work a little harder
Try and try again, like the day is young
Gotta get going,
Pack it up,
I've got the tickets
You've gotta stay away
It'll be you and me in the end
It's like the world is just beginning
(It would be you and me)
We've got the best thing going
It's you. It's me
We'll get it back, in the end
You'll come around
